Schools: Build your perfect playground by applying for funding today!

Playtime is usually the favourite part of a child’s school day. Outdoor play is a time for them to decompress and is vital for their fun and imagination as well as health and wellbeing. It is part of their ‘work/life balance’. A well-designed playground is often the first place that children begin to develop social skills and it is where they learn valuable lessons about trust, teamwork and following the rules.

For more than 30 years, Play! by Crozier, a leader in playgrounds, splash pads, sports goals and site amenities, has created fun and inclusive play spaces where kids can learn and be active. Knowing the importance of active play in schools, Play! by Crozier established the Play! School Grant Program to offer assistance in making this essential childhood element a reality.

On now until December 1st, Play! is offering sup to $500,000 in grants to schools across Manitoba, Ontario, NWT, Nunavut and the Maritimes. If chosen, Play! will match up to 33% on every dollar of your allotted playground budget to ensure you get the perfect play space for your school. Funding is given on a first come basis, so it is recommended to apply now as funds will go fast!

How can I apply?

Applying is quick and easy. If you are a registered school in need of an upgraded or new playground, simply fill out the application in the school brochure HERE to tell us why your school would benefit from the grant. Completed applications must be received by emailed to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. no later than December 1st.

How can I use the funds?

With the big increase in funding, you then choose from Play!’s product lines to tailor your playground equipment to your school’s unique space and budget. Since the Play! School Grant Program can be used in conjunction with any other provincial or government grant, some schools have been able to double and even triple their original budget. (Note: Grant dollars must be used by March 31st, 2015).

I'm approved! ...Now what?

If your application is approved, a Play! sales associate will contact you to discuss the next steps in building your creative play space.

“If you ask a child about his/her school day, you will most likely hear about recess and the adventures on the playground,” said Play! by Crozier Sales Associate Victoria Plett. “Play holds the key to a happy and healthy childhood and we hope this funding helps school’s enrich the lives of children for decades to come.”

For now, feel free to browse through our School Grant Brochure and dream as if you were back in grade school!

Congratulations on taking the first step towards making your creative ideas a reality and offering children a chance to learn through play!
